Let's play Field Hockey!

Basic Field Hockey Rules:

• You may only use the flat side of your stick. Ich darf den Ball nur mit der flachen Seite berühren. Für Links- sowie Rechtshänder halten den gleichen Stock, man dreht ihn einfach um.

• You must be properly attired - shin guards, mouth guards, no jewelry, etc. Wir tragen keinen Schutz, nur den Sportdress. Beim heutigen Training ist mir ein Ball ins Gesicht geflogen. That hurts! Hockeybälle sind ziemlich schwer!

• 10 field players plus a goalie play at one time. Wir spielen in kleineren Mannschaften in vier Gruppen, ohne Goaly.

• The field hockey game lasts for two 30 minute halves. Wir spielen je 5 Minuten. Dann werden die Mannschaften getauscht. That's enough. Morgens um 8 Uhr ist es bereits 24 Grad warm!

• Penalties include advancing, blocking, tripping, raised ball, pushing, charging, obstruction, and playing with the wrong side of the stick (players can only use the flat side).

Das Ziel ist simple: Score more goals than the opposing team!
